A very realistic way to end what was orginally a not-so-realistic relationship. The description of the story and downfall of their relationship was vivid. It was raw, real, and true.
I am not really much of a Rory-Logan fan, so for me it was, in a way, satisfying to see their relationship finally end. By the way, the structure of the story, act by act was perfect with the plotline.
That was absolutely beautiful. I could not have hoped for a response as wonderful as this. I really wanted to see their relationship self-destruct without interference from Shira/Mitchum or the contrived nonsense that is so unlike real life. You gave me that and more.
I think the Act structure worked on several levels, and I'm so pleased that you were able to incorporate all of those random elements of the challenge. Everything is seamless. The tone is especially lovely, drifting from stages of domestic simplicity to the numbness of defeat. I can't get over how much I love this. I wish I could be more specific, but if I start highlighting paragraphs I'll end up with the entire story in this box. Thank you for this. I LOVE IT.

One of the first Rory/Logan fics I've read that I've truly enjoyed (I'm usually a Luke/Lorelai gal). Bravo.

Wow. Talk about painful. You really know hot to make it hurt! There was something almost inexorable about this. The fault lines in their relationship are gradually unveiled until they become impassable chasms. Much as I hate to admit it, I think that there's a real danger of Logan finding himself truly in love with the publishing business and becoming consumed by it. I know that he doesn't want to become another Mitchum, but it's the only model that he truly knows and Rory just isn't suited to putting her life on hold in support of that.
There's something terrible and appropriate in her returning to the Yale campus when things are finally and irrevocably over (although way to cast a pall of sadness over my alma mater! lol). In a way going back to Yale at the end of the relationship brings her full circle. It's almost live mourning at a graveside or sitting shiva.
In an odd way, I feel sorrier for Rory here. You get the sense that Logan has a life to go to and that it's one that affords him pleasure, but Rory seems to have nothing left but emptiness and regret. Very sad.
Finally, I love Rory's intimation that Logan had become the runner. The reason their relationship has worked so well to date is that Logan hasn't let Rory run. If that were to change, well, bad things might very well ensue.
Now, please use your gifts for a much happier Rory/Logan outing okay? Come back from the dark side! ;)
